The Pakistan-China Institute held the inaugural event of the Friends of Silk Road, on Thurs- day, the 14th of February, 2019, in Nazara Hall, at the Serena Hotel, in Islamabad. The Inauguration was a high-profile event graced by senior dignitaries and important personalities, including a high-ranking Chinese delegation,  representatives from all  political  parties, high-level government officials, cabinet ministers, Senators, MNAs, diplomats, bureaucrats, heads of think tanks and study centers, professors, PhD students, business and opinion leaders, influential personalities, journalists and civil society. Featured by addresses from distinguished speakers, a round-table discussion with an eminent panel, and concluded by an interactive Question and Answer session, the event was an immense success. The launch established the first of its kind ‘people’s platform’ for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
